AURORA is actively searching for partners, sponsors and financial supporters to help bring Dallas one of the largest most interactive art shows in the country. Showcasing innovative new media art, including light, sound, video, and performance, AURORA 2013 will continue to put Dallas on the cultural map, supporting it’s position as one of the fastest growing arts capitals.
In 2011 (AURORA’s second year), we brought together over 100 local and national artists to create an expansive art event reaching across 68 acres (19 city blocks) of downtown Dallas. Over the course of a single evening, the streets, venues and skyscrapers of The Dallas Arts District became radically transformed: the bell tower rang out with startling new compositions, specters of light scaled high walls, rooms filled with smoke and sound and reflections, the city-scape became one great all-encompassing, interactive installation.
Now we’re looking to the future, AURORA 2013! To realize this game-changing event, we must secure the funds to provide our artists with materials for their installations, rent the generators to bring electricity to the middle of the street, and to cover the general cost of creating a city wide art show that spans from the Dallas Museum of Modern Art to One Arts Plaza.
All in all, your money and your support will help provide Dallas with a bi-annual landmark art event that will grow and enrich the cultural tourism of Dallas. The AURORA goal is to light peoples’ spirit and imagination, enlivening pride in our culturally rich city. Your support is where this pride begins.
