DGDG, Slik Stockings, The Color Condition: Social Studies & Other To-Dos

Collaborative performance installation

Featuring Michaeli Brunk & Kirstan Clifford

‘Social Studies and Other To-Dos’ is a collaborative performance installation that explores the idea of celebration through the cyclical nature of seasons. The performance uses installation work of The Color Condition, choreographed scenes that explore social dances by DGDG, and video and performance work by Slik Stockings, referencing festivals based on the four seasons. The goal of the work is to bring forth the joy and festivities that surround us as a community. We will explore the transition of time through that lens, as well as social participation and an environment that weaves together fantasy and reality.

DGDG: the Danielle Georgiou Dance Group, was created in 2011 by Danielle Georgiou, and is a dance theatre group that works within contemporary dance and physical theatre to create conceptual or narrative-driven productions.

Slik Stockings is a collaboration between Danielle Georgiou and Hillary Holsonback, and their performances work toward producing a cathartic experience while exploring issues of femininity.

The Color Condition was started in 2010 by Sunny Sliger and Marianne Newsom, and is a product of their mutual love of color, pattern, and movement. They are drawn to repetition, patternization, color, and wind in its natural motion.
