John Dombroski: The Broadcast Project

‘The Broadcast Project’ collects lost frequencies; historic American music connected to place, old radio shows, site-specific field recordings, and voice, processed through analogue and digital synthesizers and broadcast as live improvisations on community radio stations during a journey across the USA with no planned destination.

Born in Baltimore, Maryland in 1989, → John Dombroski grew up in rural England and the Washington D.C. area. He received his BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University and is a Skowhegan (2013) alumnus. He is a former faculty member at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Arts, recipient of a Virginia Museum of Fine Arts professional fellowship (2014). He is currently traveling across the United States by car, with no planned destination.
